Litigation of real estate sales-related matters, whether on the Plaintiff or Defendant side, requires a knowledge of the standard of care for real estate licensees. Although there is much case law defining specific duties in narrow situations, the basis for the Statutory Duty is Civil Code § 2079.2.

How, then, does an attorney understand this duty? Obviously, you will want to hire appropriate experts to testify; however, the best way to familiarize yourself with the

"...degree of knowledge through education, experience and examination required to obtain a license..."

is to actually prepare for and take the exam yourself!

The most efficient way to do this is to attend the Attorney's Broker License Examination Preparation Seminar. This Seminar is a comprehensive review of all topics tested on the Real Estate Broker examination. These are the same topics tested on the Real Estate Salesperson examination, and the differences between the two exams will also be discussed. Everything is compressed into one concise lecture and workbook for your convenience and presented by Paul W. Samarin, who is licensed by both the California State Bar and the Department of Real Estate. Mr. Samarin has taught Real Estate Principles to prospective licensees since 1980.

Depending upon your practice, having a Real Estate Broker license may provide some additional benefits to you and/or your firm.
